Christmas Dress

Christmas Dress simultaneously negates and affirms my interest with material, metaphorical, and social fittedness, in this case how we fit into Christmas! This parody is extremely literal/material and metaphoric/psychological, relating the body directly with the furniture through the comedic form of two donut pillows. I view most materializations as an extension of the body.  In particular home furnishings, clothing, and architectur. I am interested in how human beings explore the notion of identity and relationships through clothing. To date the dresses I have produced are custom drafted, meticulously constructed and made to fit my body. Performance is implied through the garment.
